UPDATE 2/14 #2

Secretary number 3 “Karen” reporting for duty,

Karen arrived safely and we went to the hospital for the afternoon visiting hours. She doesn’t know how lucky she was to see improvement in Michele on her first visit; it was the first time in 12 days that Michele has shown some physical movement. Her right eye was twitching and she was moving her right shoulder.

Small movements give us great optimism; she is trying to open her right eye and moving her shoulders constantly and when I asked her to move her left elbow she did. I had her heart rate up to 142 when she is normally at 100 right now meaning she is responding to my voice. This was at 10 pm this evening so we kept our visit short because they wanted to sedate her for the evening so she could get her rest for a bigger day tomorrow.

I called Karen two days ago and requested “Project Jelly Bean” to be implemented and it was a great success. We delivered a large jar full of Jelly Beans with Love written all over it to the ICU today for the doctors, nurses and all other medical staff that help in any way for Michele’s recovery. A written letter in English and Spanish states that every jelly bean is a symbol of our thanks for all the work and care they give to Michele every minute of every day. They all loved it and within 20 minutes half of the jar was gone. Karen brought 4 pounds of beans so we have plenty more thanks to fill up over the upcoming days so all the staff receives our deepest appreciation.

Attached is a picture of Dave and Brenda with Miracle Michele telling her,”see you later” before they left to go home.
