UPDATE 2/20

Our day started out rough. We had to move to another resort then rush to the hospital to find Michele at 23k in Platelets. This is a dangerous level so we did not even get a chance to see her at all this morning so that she could rest and not get too much stimulation until she was able to get her transfusion of platelets. I know everyone wants to donate but it has to be done in person in Cancun and cannot be sent from America. Although we had no donors as of this morning we have worked out several options to reach out to the staff at the royal resorts, church’s, American embassy, and several people we have run across in the resort that are willing at a whim to go and donate after they hear our story and we now have heard that several people are making their way to the donation center today and throughout the weekend. Dr Garcia also stated if it gets to the point that they get low he will donate himself. What a wonderful doctor Michele has and truly cares for his patients.

Karen, Billy and I visited Michele at 6pm today and she was very reactive and showed signs of response to our visit. She opened her right eye and moved her left arm at our request. This has been our 1st true glimmer of hope over the last 7-10 days and we were very excited. Do not take this as a full recovery but a jump in the right direction. She was getting her platelets at the time and I’m sure this was part of the reaction. She has life in her and we are going to preserve that Life! We will work daily on it until we get her back fully. “100% is what I am praying for!”

This has been a day of ups and downs but we are going to bed tonight very optimistic that tomorrow will be another day of improvement.

Thanks for all the emails and prayers. So many people are there for me and my family in some way or another and I want you to know how much it means to us and is greatly appreciated!.

Billy has said that he wants to express his comments and feelings on the day he brings his mother home. I love his determination and power of suggestion to complete this process. He has grown so much through this trying time with taking care of his siblings and being the man I am proud of! When the time is right he will express his gratitude and feelings to all as well as his Mother. He loves her so dearly and wants to bring her home to his brother and sisters.

Love and prayers as always,
Love John
