The results of Michele’s cat scan and lung x-ray came back this morning. There is no change on the cat scan, which means no additional bleeding or swelling. This is good. The infection in the lungs has decreased slightly. The plan is to keep her in the coma until Sunday, and take another cat scan. Depending on those results, they may begin to start bringing her back to us on Sunday. Unless any of her vitals change, she will continue to rest. We will continue to visit during visiting hours for her to hear our voices.
Amy and I stopped by a church on the way back to the hotel and lit a candle for Michele. We left a note: Please Lord, bring our Miracle Michele back to us. We are confident He will. We also stopped in town to have henna tattoos done, Amy’s says Miracle Michele on her wrist and mine says WMIGI on my arm. Wherever Michele Is, God Is. We both plan on making them permanent as soon as we get back home with her.
Shortly after returning to the hotel, Dr. Garcia called to let us know her platelets are up to 83,000. Remember, she dropped to a dangerous 30,000 thus causing the doctors to put her back into a coma. A safe level is 50,000. This was excellent news, and there was excitement in his voice.
We are returning this afternoon, and again this evening to say goodnight.
