UPDATE 2/25 PM

GOD BLESS AMERICA! Michele is on our home soil! We left Ameri-Med hospital in Cancun via ambulance to the airport. There we boarded a private medivac plane, equipped with all of the medical equipment needed to support Michele for the flight, including a respiratory therapist, a medical doctor, surgical nurse, 2 pilots (and me). We landed safely in Miami around 4:30 this afternoon and were taken to Jackson Memorial Trauma center where Brenda, Amy, Annette, Kristin and Michelle met us.

I was basically kicked out of ICU and Michele had a team of 10+ doctors checking her out from head to toe. Then she was moved to the neurosurgical ICU, a more private and quiet area where we were able to visit her two at a time. Michele’s eyes are open, however she is still unable to communicate with us, other than blinking to answer my questions. She still loves me. Blink.

It was a long day, and the doctors and nurses here in Miami are just getting familiar with Michele and her condition. Brenda, Amy and I will stay at a hotel close to the hospital tonight, and then look for a long-term living solution tomorrow.

The most important thing about today is that Michele is home. She is in the United States of America. She will receive the best care possible here at Jackson Memorial and we are looking forward to seeing improvements, “Day by Day”.

We are so thankful that she is here and that she is safe. We have nothing but gratitude for the doctors and nurses at Ameri-Med.

The prayers and well wishes have been well received and appreciated but our struggle is not even close to over so please keep my Miracle Michele in your daily prayers.
